Highest Drug Addiction Rate in the World: Iran

I wouldn't have guessed that a country as small as Iran would have the highest drug addiction rate in the world. This article quotes UN statistics regarding the percentage of the population addicted to drugs.  It makes one wonder what particular factors in the country lead to the high rate of drug abuse.  Why Iran rather than any other country?

The Most Dangerous Drug in the World

My friend just showed me this article and video about Scopolamine which was very insightful.  I had never heard of the drug and was terrified that you could blow this substance into someone's face and they basically do whatever you say while being completely competent.  I invite you to watch the video at the end of the article, as it's very interesting!

Honduras: fighting drug violence with military violence

After watching "Breaking the Taboo", I thought it was interesting to see that Honduras is now entrenched in a military-style ani-drug campaign. This tactic did not seem effective in Colombia and Mexico, according to the film. Will such actions work in Honduras?

This article is from the New York Times, posted yesterday, giving an overview of the situation.

Wake up, smoke, go to work at a steady job in an office downtown. Go home, smoke, walk the dog. Basically lead a mind numbingly normal life as a productive member of society while high most of the day.
